What to wear, what to wear…

A Walima is very simular to a western wedding reception – and the dress code is pretty much the same – suits, dresses and shoes.

There will be some women in traditional Indian dress and we welcome those who embrace this spirit. Other wise, standard smart wedding attire is the order of the day.

But be prepared to do some dancing in the evening!

Obviously, we hope that the Walima will be the highlight of the weekend in Brighton – but if you are planning to spend some more time there, here are some suggestions of things you might want to check out:

6th June – London to Brighton Classic Car Run

Drool over some of the best motors from yesteryear – they don’t make them like this anymore!

20th June – London to Brighton Bike Ride

Brighton gets over run by charity raising pedellers. Nabeel completed this ride last year, so he can testify on the challenge it is!

All June – Hope: Stories from India

19th and 20th June – The Victorian & Steampunk Seaside Spectacular

A two day event with a Victorian seaside feel including live music, comedy, burlesque, Victorian dance lessons, stalls, competitions and a variety performance.

And of course, there’s always the beach! With its 614 billion pebbles, I’m sure no one will mind if you took a few home as a souvenir!
